Eligibility requirements
- Eligible for admission to a master's or doctoral programme at a Japanese graduate school
- Age: Up to 34 years
- Applicants must satisfy the language and academic requirements in the MEXT guidelines and of the eventual host university.
- Open to nationals of countries that have diplomatic relations with Japan, subject to the detailed MEXT eligibility rules and the relevant embassy or university recommendation process.
- Academic background: Proposed field should normally be the same as or related to the applicant's previous academic major.
