The WUE tuition discount, plus
Students meeting the criteria will have the nonresident portion of their tuition waived, but continue to be classified as nonresidents.
Students who hold a nonimmigrant alien visa are not eligible for this exemption.
Applying for the exemption does not in any way alter the student’s responsibility to pay on time any nonresident tuition and associated fees that may be due before the HB144 Waiver is awarded.
This exemption of nonresident tuition will not be considered until a student is admitted to Utah State University.

- Attend a Next Step Night event (in person or virtual)
- Participate in the Module 1 presentation/session at the event

- Eligible students will see the Affordability Grant applied directly to their student account in April, helping them plan ahead and reduce out-of-pocket costs before the semester begins.
